             Annual Community Events

In 2020, we joined communities nationwide in observing the third Tuesday of January as a day of National Day of Racial Healing.

The Greater Williamsburg National Day of Racial Healing celebration includes good music, food and storytelling. In 2023  the “Table Builders” award was established to recognize local organizations for  their commitment to working collaboratively towards community-building and racial reconciliation.

We launched this community

event in 2022 to demonstrate

racial healing in action. Special guests are invited to share lessons they have learned on their journey to racial healing. The 2023 guests were Darrell and Will Hairston,

two men linked by slavery whose 30 year brotherhood transcends race.  To learn more about their story,  click here!

On October 3, 2020  the first Heal Williamsburg/Heal the Nation Rally was  held at Colonial Williamsburg. During a time of national unrest, we provided a platform for local leaders to share what they are doing to foster racial healing and equity.

This event  evolved into an annual “Community Day” with vendors, food, music, storytellers and family-friendly activities. However, the heart of the event is still a community forum where local leaders share what they are doing to make a difference. Learn more about Community Day here!

Attendance: 100 - 200
