Racial Healing Book Club
Our book club is facilitated by Bill Sizemore, Rebecca Parson and Kimberley Hundley. Join us as we begin reading Driving The Green Book by Alvin Hall. This book explores the dangerous days of Jim Crow segregation and the difficulties that Black travelers encountered at hotels and restaurants. The Negro Motorist Green Book, included an annual listing of lodging, diners, gas stations, and other businesses that could handle the needs of Black customers until after the passage of the Civil Rights Act in the 1960s ended legal segregation.
